Rinse FM came to Ibiza on a mission – to destroy and conquer, and that’s exactly what they did. In their second takeover of Ibiza Rocks this season, they turned W.A.R! into a night of sweaty, pounding heaven. And with a line up that boasted enough top quality artists to form a football team, it was a given that there’d be A LOT of frenzied fun.
Idris Elba returned to the White Isle in style, and in the manner of the charismatic gent that he is, delivered a set list that was a feast for every ear (mostly girls) on the dance floor. This man oozes charm, so you can’t help but move to his beat.
Rocks resident Doorly followed after and delivered a set of his usual style and class, seamlessly mixing tracks that ordinarily should have no place together. Next up was DJ Zinc and MC Tippa who came out with the sole aim of getting people moving. So to a soundtrack of finely tuned bass, everyone was encouraged to ‘express themselves’ – there’s no room for shy guys here, people, MC Tippa wants to see your best moves. The crowd became one bouncing mass and from here there was no looking back.
When Katy B came on stage, delirious fans in the front row screamed their hearts out and Katy B, in turn, looked to be having just as much fun as they were. She gave a faultless vocal performance and hypnotised the crowd with her delivery of chart classics like ‘Broken Record’ and ‘Lights On’. Her exit left people wanting more, so it was just as well that seeing out this night was P Money, who was fierce in every sense of the word. He rolled lyrics around his mouth and spat them out like venom, while keeping everyone lively in the process – no mean feat after hours of constant dancing. When he made everyone break into the Harlem Shake they went beserk – we know by now that a Rocks crowd has unending energy. And so ended another night of Rinse FM madness – we can’t wait for the next one.
