This weeks Rocks Blog Introducing definately has that late 80’s early 90’s feel to it as we introduce shoegazing indie rockers TOY.
A favourite of The Horrors this East London 5 piece have been quietly building a reputation for themselves as ones to watch in 2012 with their live shows and sound mixing elements of indie, psychedelic rock and electronica.
3 of the band used to be part of short lived indie outfit Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong, but, with tunes like the epic ‘Motoring’ TOY look set to go much further.
They have just released two tunes for free download through their Facebook page, click here to get your hands on them.
For those who still get a thrill from the sound and the smell of vinyl today is the fifth annual Record Store Day, bringing together independent record stores across the globe to give away brand new collectibles from over 500 artists. This year’s list features plenty of Rocks Acts past and present from Bloc Party, Professor Green and Two Door Cinema Club to Metronomy, The Vaccines and The Specials

Zulu Winter are a band with an ear for an anthem. Breaking through late last year the London based quintet have… *takes deep breath*… packed out venues in the UK, toured Europe with Friendly Fires, played a storming set at the recent SXSW festival, released two singles, recorded an album, toured the US, drawn comparisons to The Maccabees and been voted hottest record in the world by Zane Lowe with awesome single ‘We Should Be Swimming’…. not a bad run for a band who only formed this time last year!
